Vibration investigation identified looseness within the machine frame members and joints. Reduced structural stiffness and relative motion at bolted and welded connections drove elevated vibration. Corrective actions included weld repair, fastener replacement and torque verification, addition of gussets or diagonal bracing, regrouting and leveling, and final alignment.
